What is 5G:

5G is a network of small hubs that send very high frequency signals (mmWaves) along powerlines that repeat the signal across the network with extreme speeds.

5G allows faster internet speeds, lower latency, and more simultaneous connections than existing 4G networks. It's potential is much greater due to the massive volume of information that can be passed across the network in a shorter frame of time. It is more efficient and uses less energy.

This will further technology by providing instant remote access to nearly anywhere in the world. A doctor could remotely conduct a surgery or a mechanic remotely work on a project. A city could control traffic lights, have cameras on every block and drones providing delivery services. A gamer could stream to the cloud with no lag and be able to play demanding games from their cellphone. People could wear virtual reality glasses that pop up information in real time, allowing them to make faster decisions. Automated vehicles can communicate quickly allowing them to drive themselves. Monitoring services such as power and water could be viewed in real time without having to manually check each house. Many other services could be remotely controlled instantly without any lag. So many sensors can be installed to help monitor devices in the heath care industry and government or private sectors alike.
